About
SpeakUp SL is an initiative that connects Sri Lankan students aged 7+ with high school English tutors from Canada and other English-speaking countries. Our goal is to help students improve their spoken English fluency, confidence, and communication skills through fun, interactive online lessons. Unlike traditional English classes, our program focuses primarily on conversation and speaking rather than grammar and writing, although those may be incorporated when appropriate. Lessons are taught in small groups over Google Meet, creating a supportive environment where students can practice speaking without fear of making mistakes.
